Cambridge Audio has officially announced its TT50 Turntable
British manufacturer Cambridge Audio, will introduce this month it's new TT50 turntable. The TT50 was designed in conjunction with turntable specialist Pro-ject, that explains the similar design with some Pro-ject's turntable, however Cambridge Audio claims it's more than a simple re-badging, they added some modifications inside.
The TT50 was developed at Cambridge Audio's research and development headquarters, it results on a minimalist design based on a MDF chassis with a high gloss finish and an elastomer-coated acrylic platter. The proprietary arm and head shell are cast as one piece of aluminium fitted with an Audio Technica AT95E moving magnet cartridge. The turntable makes use of high-quality gold phono/RCA connections for the best possible signal transfer and is compatible with 33 and 45rpm by moving manually the drive belt between two pulleys.
